Church Family Update…

Newby Ginnings food drive… We hope to take a van load of food over to Newby Ginnings on November  30th. Please bring what you can over the next two Sundays. We are looking for non-perishable items like: canned vegetables, canned fruit, canned meat, stew is always a high demand item… And of course chili, or other soups. Also, you may bring holiday oriented things like cranberry sauce, stuffing mixes, cookies, pies, etc. But because of COVID there can be nothing homemade and everything properly packaged and not close to any expiration dates. Thank you.

Our Live Stream is rolling now… Looks like we have finally figured out all the nuances to providing a picture and quality sound live stream in the adult Bible Class and worship gathering. This is simultaneously  on our congregational Facebook page and our church website at: Thanks to all who worked on this, and thanks for the congregation’s patience.

Please let us know if anyone has any needs… We are here help, but also to be extra careful during the pandemic.

“Sometimes you come up against a mountain and you end up making the mountain seem bigger than God.”  -Jeremy Lin, NBA Point Guard

Has there ever been a more important time to give thanksgiving?

The youth will be planning ways  to encourage and share our thanks for one another this November, especially those who are sheltering at home.

Stay tuned.

New Food Drive for Our Veterans

Dear church family,

I hope you told some veteran yesterday, “thank you for your service.” If not do so today. Our church family is blessed with many vets and their service to our country should always be remembered.

Newby Ginnings…. We want to help again. We were introduced to this group that helps vets to make the transition from military life to civilian life last year. And it is not an easy transition for many vets.

Beginning this Sunday, we will have a food drive for this service organization. They always run short on food items in December and here’s how to help.

Bring some of the following items:

Canned vegetables, canned fruit, canned meats, soups, and the very popular chilies and stews. If you wish to bring cookies, pies, and other holiday items then we need remember, because of COVID, there can be no homemade items, only things that are professionally processed and packaged.

Boxes will be out in our church building lobby. We only have a few Sundays to collect these food items. We tend to be very generous as a church and I know many of us will want to help out this Sunday, but know you can also drop off items by just coming by building. If you do not want to get out of your car, just call us, and we will run outside in our mask and collect food that way.

Growing in our Blessings

A Message of Encouragement from David Bruner:

In the past several weeks I have been given an opportunity to ‘count my blessings ‘. The blessings of what God has given me as well as people he has allowed to influence my life. As Mission Sunday approached I thought of passages such as Col 4:5 which tells us ‘to be wise in the way we act toward outsiders and make the most of every opportunity’,  then in Phil 2:13 which reminds us that ‘it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose’, and then in Gal 6:10 which reminds us that ‘as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people…’ Then when I heard of the response of giving from everyone I was thrilled! It made me think of Gal 6:9 which tells us not to ‘become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest’. And I like to think that one harvest may be a blessing; another opportunity to do good for others.

Thank you God for helping us to grow in our blessings and opportunities.

We live stream the adult Bible class at 9am and our worship gathering at 10:15.

Let’s be in prayer for our nation and our government in the aftermath of our national elections… If  all your candidates were NOT elected, don’t grumble too long; but ask God to bless our leaders, and just as important, let’s ask God to bless our government officials with hearts He can touch. And don’t worry, there is always another election coming soon… but hopefully, not too soon.:)
