Encouraging note :
When I was young several of my brothers and I were into sports and competition. I also learned that I was not that great as an athlete, but competition continued to drive us in life. At some point I learned that life is not all about competition, but more about persevering in the task we have in this life. As God’s children we need to persevere in the task he has set for us whether this is a race we are running by ourselves or if we are running together.
Hebrews 12:1-2 tells us “Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus.”
I know it’s great to start well, especially when you’re competing, but it is more important to finish well with our focus and trust on God.
