I believe Satan is real because Jesus does.
I believe demons are real for the same reason.
To whatever the extent evil spirits exist, Jesus has authority over them.
No sin is so controlling or difficult that Jesus cannot free us from its domination over us.
“Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.” -Ephesians 6:11, 12
A. Our champion, Christ Jesus, has authority beyond measure and evil spirits must obey Him.
In the Gospel of Luke the identity of Jesus is NOT some mysterious puzzle hard for people to solve.
Dr. Luke views sickness as a kind of brokenness and to be healed is to be made whole.
“He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed.” -1 Peter 2:24
B1. The driving force for us to give our bodies to His service begins with gratitude for how our champion gave His body for us.
B2. Jesus didn’t do mass healings, instead He focused on one person at a time.
Lesson One: We need to invoke the authority and name of Jesus more often in our lives.
“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus.” -Colossians 3:17
Lesson Two: We share, in every way we can imagine, how Jesus changes lives while remembering our time is so short.
“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” -Acts 4:12
