Be Still

Part 3:
“We can STILL Choose Joy”

by Michael Lewis

Philippians reminds Christians God is always “AVAILABLE.”

Philippians 4:10: “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!”

I Choose Joy Because…

  1. No matter the challenge, I STILL have a Response-Ability.

John 16.33: “In this life there will be trouble.”

There will be a time when we can look back on our trouble and grief and find some reason for joy in Christ… if we so choose.

    We have a “Response-Ability.”

Paul’s first missionary visit to Philippi — Acts 16:12-40

  2. God is STILL worthy of praise.

Worship does not need a place.

    Worship simple needs a perspective.

Worship is not rooted in our circumstances (always changing).

Worship is rooted in the character to God (who never changes).

Psalms 34:1: “I will praise the Lord at all times. I will constantly speak his praises.”

  3. There is STILL a way into God’s peace.

    Philippians 4:13-16

Within every difficult situation there are reasons to thank God if we can find them.

That search is the path to God’s peace.

  4. I can STILL train my mind to find the good.

    Philippians 4:8

Daniel 6:10: “But when Daniel learned that the law had been signed, he went home and knelt down as usual in his upstairs room, with its windows open toward Jerusalem. He prayed three times a day, just as he had always done, giving thanks to his God.”

  5. Living as a witness for Christ is STILL always possible.

    Philippians 4:9
