Here we are in 2021! A primary thought was that 2020 was a poor year, and that as soon as it went away that the pandemic would go away, politics would straighten up, and everything would return to ‘normal ‘. Well….it hasn’t gone exactly like that.
The good news is that we now have a vaccine, but there has been warnings of caution to keep everyone safe. Did you notice that as soon as someone put that ‘but’ or that ‘warning ‘ in there that we began to feel a little discouraged? I guess this is a part of human nature. But we know from the Bible that we need to focus upon God and not our human nature. In James 5:11, ‘…we count as blessed those who have persevered.’
When you look at this congregation we have been blessed in so many ways, and we have been able to use those blessings to bless others. We raised up funds that we could bless mission works. We raised up money, food, coats, etc. to bless our local community. We continue to be blessed, and continue to use those blessings to bless others. We need to feel encouraged that God continues to use us. In James 5:11 we also read that; ‘The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.’ Let’s share that.
