Thank you so much to everyone who gave of their time and money during DGCC’s Family Promise Meal Hosting Weeks this summer during the pandemic. We are incredibly grateful for your support and hearts of service.
DGCC’s next Family Promise Meal Hosting Week is December 27th through January 2nd! This ministry helps families without safe shelter stay together, find work and resources, and stand on their own feet again. You can be a part of loving on these families in one of three ways during our hosting week:
1. Cook meals and “no-contact” deliver with notes of encouragement to hotels in Appleway area. We’ll have specific dietary needs and location drop off information a few weeks before our host week. If you’d like to cook a meal but aren’t able to take it to the families, DGCC coordinators can pick up and deliver the meals for you. We can also provide disposable cookware if needed. Can’t make two meals for two families? Let us know if you can manage one, and we’ll arrange the other.
2. Order meals for delivery via Grubhub, DoorDash, or your favorite restaurant’s delivery option. This can be done ahead of schedule but must arrive to the families between 5-6pm. If you need help with this, please let Coordinator Emily Moore know!
3. Donate gift cards or money toward the Family Promise ministry to the Church office. We’ll use these for nightly meals, breakfast and lunch groceries, and other expenses the families may have while they are in our care.
Please contact coordinator Emily Moore 530-410-2734 (call/text) or email@example.com or Freda Campbell if you have questions or would like to sign-up. We will be using mealtrain.com to keep track of sign-ups. Please look for an email with sign up details on Monday, December 7th.
Additionally, If you’d like to be a larger part of what Family Promise of North Idaho is doing in our community, consider taking part in their Avenues of Hope Challenge. The 2020 campaign begins at 7:00 a.m. PT on Dec. 10, and runs through Dec. 31, 2020. Every donation of $25 or more helps provide critical resources to Family Promise of North Idaho and helps ensure that local homeless families have access to programs which offer a path to safe, stable, affordable housing. Thank you again for all you do for this special and necessary ministry!
