Dear church family,
The Governor of Idaho has turned the state back to Stage Three Guidelines because of the rapid increase in Covid-19 cases throughout our state. We want to be cooperative, vigilant, sensitive, and have the love of Christ as we face each new challenge coming our way.
We have had about 70 attend on an average Sunday in recent weeks, and while the recommended stage three number for a gathering is no more than 50, Panhandle Health has reviewed our procedures and given us permission to have a few more at the church building, if we are careful.
Here are those procedures: We begin our regular Bible Classes this Sunday. We ask all children, teens, and their teachers to wear a mask as much as possible during class. We ask everyone (including adults) to wear a mask whenever we are approaching other people and social distancing is not possible. If you come to the building, you will notice that certain pews are taped off on both sides to allow for greater social distancing in our large auditorium. People are welcome to wear their mask at all times if they wish in the large auditorium, but if we are socially distanced from those on all sides of us, taking your mask off while seated is also permissible. Maintaining all sanitation protocols such as washing hands, using hand sanitizers, and so on are important. And obviously, if you are sick, have a fever, or a cough, then please remain at home.
We are painfully aware there are people whom we love who have very different opinions about how we should behave. Some strongly believe we are not doing enough, while others believe we are over-reacting. All we can do is work with community health officials, pray for wisdom, and then carefully proceed in the best way, we trust, is for the greater good of our church family.
Please remember, we do live stream the adult Bible Class, and our worship gathering (9am and 10:15am). The live stream is available on the Dalton Gardens Church of Christ Facebook page and the dgchurch.org web site.
May God bless us all as we love the Lord and each other in this uncertain time.
P.S. And don’t forget to turn your clocks back one hour this Saturday night!
