Church Family Update…
Update Directory information… If you have a new phone number or email address, please put that on your communication card today. We will be making a new mini directory for every one soon.
Benny Baker is coming… We look forward to his visit. If you have ever wanted to ask questions about our mission trips to Nicaragua this is your chance Benny will be here on Oct 18th.
Pounding for Christian… For the first time in Christian’s life he’s not in a college dorm or part-time summer job, but he is in his first long-term basement apartment. We want to make him feel welcome with some household items and food he needs and likes. Here some of Christian’s ideas:
- Air Freshener, Ziploc bags, Canned Food-chili, veggies, Coffee Creamer, Paper Towels, Spices
- Tin foil, Frozen fruit, Ramen Noodles, Yogurt, Sweet Tea (I prefer Milos ha-ha), Seattle’s Best coffee…
- Tortillas, Tortilla chips, Lunch meats….
And surely we might think of more, like cereal, or cookies, sugar, salt and pepper (Well, use your imagination). If we get something he cannot use we can send it to Mountain States or our Pantry.
Mountain States Children’s Home… Please help to fill the boxes for Mountain States. We have until October 18th to gather our donation.
Please know the elders decided to support former member Josey Cheromiah. She wants to be part of a missionary effort through the AIM program at Sunset School of Preaching in Lubbock, TX. The elders sent her a check for $500 and Josey would appreciate our prayers. email@example.com
Crowns and Thorns Corner…
One of my favorite TV series is called Friday Night Lights. In the pilot episode of the TV series, Jason Street goes down in the game. He tries to make a tackle and ends up getting paralyzed from the waist down. Something that Coach Taylor tells his team before the game and it seems to have more meaning as the show goes on is this phrase: Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can’t Lose. I love that saying as Coach Taylor tells his team before they leave the tunnel.
In the same way, us as Christians have a mission. We need to have clear eyes for the mission of Jesus Christ, especially in 2020. We also need to have FULL HEARTS that are willing to share the message of Jesus Christ with the world. Finally, we can’t lose if we have Jesus?! Am I right?
|We ran out of the Promises of God books last Sunday. We now have a new shipment n the table in the lobby one book per family please! In addition we have Red Wrist Bands with the word COURAGE on them. We would like you to wear them for four Sundays so that every time you look at them you think about being more courageous!|
