Colossians: Jesus is All You Need

The primary question Colossians answers is:  Is Christ all you need? .

It is also about a warning:  Simplicity  is always an  enemy  of  human  religion.

Two theme passages in Colossians:

1. Colossians  2:9-10 ... The key words are:  full, fullness and all .

2. Colossians  2:2-4 ... The key thought is:  riches and treasure of the cross of Christ .

Here are some of the implications of a Christ-plus teaching:

1. Christ-plus teaching  dethrones  Christ (Col 1:17-20).

2. Christ-plus teaching increases  legalism  and  guilt  (Col. 2:11-14).

3. Christ-plus teaching encourages Christians to feel  superior  and  judgmental  toward others (Col.1:28; Col. 3:9b-11).
