"Teacher"

"You call me 'Teacher'... and rightly so, for that is what I am.” John 13:13
Generational Generalizations...
“Builders” (people born before 1945) tend to: respect authority .
“Boomers” (people born from 1946 to 1986) tend to say: prove it .
“Generation X” (people born after 1986) have a favorite word; it is: "whatever" .
Big Idea - There is an ultimate standard of truth and that standard is Jesus.
John 8:31; John 14:6, 7
Another Big Idea - Jesus is not like any other teacher .
Matthew 13:54; 22:33; John 7:46
Why is Jesus a great teacher?
- He is an excellent story teller . (various scriptures)
- His teaching is of the highest quality . (John 6:63)
- His teaching is always relevant . (Luke 21:33)
- He teaches with authority . (Matthew 7:28; 23:10)
So how can we let Jesus teach us?
1. We need to listen to HIM. (Matthew 17:5)
2. We need to practice what he preaches. (Matthew 7:24-27)
