"The Vine"

“The Vine” was a common image of Israel. Ps 80:8-11; Jer.2:21; Hosea 10:1
John 15:1-17
1. Because the vine is the symbol of Israel, Jesus is saying, because every Christian is united with Him, they are the new Israel .
Col. 2:11-12; Gal 3:26-28; 2 Cor. 5:17-18
2. Jesus as “The Vine” is not just about us being in Him but also how He is in us .
Gal. 2:20
3. The key to reproducing Jesus in our life is remaining in Him.
A. V.7 We remain in His Words and in prayer .
B. V.9 We remain in His love .
4. If we want to bear fruit we have to remain in Christ, but the Gardener has to remove .
James 1:2-4; 1 Peter 1:6-7; Heb 12:10-11
