Praise His Names “Today in the town of David a Savior has
been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.” The central fact of the gospel is that upon his death and resurrection God made Jesus Lord over all. From that point, the rest of the New Testament asks every person to decide whether or not He is THEIR Lord. What does it mean when we call Jesus Lord? 1. It is the beginning of salvation . (Romans 10:9; Gal.3:26, 27; 2 Cor.4:5) 2. We acknowledge he is the rightful ruler over all. (1 Cor. 8:6; Col 1:15-17) 3. The most powerful expression of life is to live under the Lordship of Jesus. (Matt 7:21-27; Luke 6:46; Acts 22:10) 4. Allowing the Lord alone to sit on the throne of our life is, at times, counter to our nature .(Eph. 5:21; 1 Thess 4:1; Col 4:17; Rom 16:8; Phil 4:4; Col 3:17; 1 Peter 3:15) “In your hearts set apart Christ as Lord” |
