I John 5:21
Dear children, keep yourselves from idols. (NIV)

Psalm 135:15-18
The idols of the nations are but silver and gold,
The work of man’s hands.
They have mouths, but they do not speak;
They have eyes, but they do not see;
They have ears, but they do not hear,
Nor is there any breath at all in their mouths.
Those who make them will be like them,
Yes, everyone who trusts in them. (NASB)

Jeremiah 2:5
This is what the LORD says:
“What fault did your fathers find in me,
that they strayed so far from me?
They followed worthless idols
and became worthless themselves.”
(NIV)

Romans 8:29
For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his son, so that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. (NIV)

Romans 12:1-2
Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (NIV)

Exodus 20:4-6
"You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.” (NIV)

Ephesians 4:24
...and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth. (NASB)

Matthew 6:33
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. (NIV)
