Revive Us Again Jonah and the ___________. A big fish story... an overview. Nahum 3:1; Jonah 1:6-12, 17 Those that suffer from “hardening of the categories” can easily become “crusty Christians” because of the assumptions they make: 1. People are not going to change . Jonah 1:14, 16; 3:5; Luke 7:9 2. They think God will always do what they expect . Jonah 3:4, 10; Exodus 32:14; Ps 106:45; Amos 7:3 A. It is a matter of perspective . 2 Peter 3:4-9 B. It is part of the consequences of choice . James 4:2, 3 3. The only time they are glad for grace is when they receive it. Jonah 4:1-3, 9-11; Eph. 3:18; Matt.12:39-41 A. If you have lost your passion for the lost... you’re like Jonah. B. If you have lost your joy over what God can do in a difficult place... C. If you are looking for ways to run away from God’s mission ... D. If you don’t understand that revival is supposed to change you ... Eph 3:17b-18: “And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.” |
