Romans 8:5  Holy Spirit 101

1. He is a  person .

2. He comes to Christians at the  moment  of salvation.

3. He is known by several  names .

4. He was part of the  creative   team  from the beginning.

5. The Holy Spirit  carried   along  the writers of scripture so they would write God’s word.

6. And he is also  mysterious , but not frightening.

What we learn about being empowered by the Holy Spirit from Romans 8.

1. Every Christian has some control over the  work .

Romans 7:18-20; Romans 8:5-8

A.  Focus  on what the Spirit desires.

B.  Think  on spiritual things more than worldly things.

C.  Be   submissive  to God’s Wisdom.

2. One must have the Spirit of God to be a  Christian .

Romans 8:9; 1 Cor. 6:19; Gal. 4:6

3. The Spirit helps us to have a sense of  victory  in our lives.

Romans 8:11; Romans 8:15-17a

4. The Spirit helps us in  weaknesses  by guiding our  prayers .

Romans 8:26-27; Gal 2:20; Romans 6:6

 Crucifixion  IS A LONG, SLOW, PAINFUL PROCESS.
