Why did Pilate have trouble convicting Jesus?
1. He claimed to be God .
2. His wife told him not to harm Jesus.
PRINCIPLE: Past mistakes limit future options.
Anything he could to avoid doing the right thing...
1. He tried dismissal .
2. He tried referral .
3. Next he tried amnesty .
4. He tried to reason with the mob.
5. He tried compromise .
6. He refused to take responsibility .
How many excuses can we come up with to avoid doing a good thing that may also be a costly thing?
