He set in motion an Irreversible set of events...

Always remember the Lord’s Supper was instituted within the context of the Passover Feast...

  • Seder means  order .

  • Lighting the candles is a symbol of God’s _______________.

  • Washing hands is a symbol of approaching the table with a pure _____________ and clean _______________.

  • Dipping the bitter herbs represented t_________ and p__________ of imprisonment.

  • The Passover lamb was a symbol of God’s d_______________.

  • The unleavened bread was a symbol of unity and being ready for f_____________.

  • There were four cups: S____________; H____________; R__________ and the P_____________.

What does the Passover teach us about the Lord’s Supper?

1. The Passover was meant to bring people  together  to remind them of the strong bond of shared
 experience .

2. The fact God commanded the Passover is confirmation that man needs to be  reminded  of the most important things that  shape  his identity.

3. The Passover was about  cleansing ,  deliverance  and  hope .

Jesus gave us a memorial to reenact together because:

1. We too were once enslaved...  imprisoned  by  sin  and were hopeless.

2. We too were saved by God’s love through the  blood  of the  lamb .

3. We too are prone to be  forgetful  and take God’s blessings for  granted .

4. We too need to rededicate ourselves regularly so we can approach with  purity .

5. We too need to remember that the core of our identity is the  cross .

6. We too need to be reminded that all  hope  springs from praising Jesus and acknowledging “TO GOD BE THE GLORY, WHAT  GREAT  THINGS HE HAS DONE!
