Life Matters: The
Book of James James 5:7-12 Patience is the capacity to stay calm and faithful under pressure. Notice two indicators of impatience: First: Grumbling (V. 9). Second: Swearing (V. 12). Three principles wrapped in three examples: 1. The faithful farmer (V. 7b). Principle One: Some suffering is beyond your control, so just do what you can and trust God . 2. The Old Testament Prophets (V. 10). Principle Two: Most suffering is not punishment for sin , it is just part of life in a fallen world; so, just trust God and be faithful where you are with what you have . 3. The last example is Job (V. 11). Principle Three: All suffering is temporary ; all you can do is trust God and anticipate the reward ahead. Galatians 6:9 |
