THE OBJECTIVE: Our life is to be the   embodiment   of God’s wisdom (James 3:13).

1. We should relentlessly seek   wisdom  .

Proverbs 4:5-7

2. What we know to be true doesn’t mean that much if we are   unwilling   to   live   it.

THE OBSTACLE:   Thinking   and   living   like the world (James 3:14-16).

1. The source of the obstacle is from the   earth  .

Romans 1:21, 22

2. The motivation for the obstacle is   selfishness  .

Ephesians 3:8; 1 Timothy 1:15; Philippians 2:3

3. The result of this obstacle is   disorder  .

Proverbs 14:12

THE OBLIGATION: To discern Godly   wisdom   and embody that   wisdom   by how we live (James 3:17, 18).

1. Does what you are about to do acknowledge   God   as   creator   over all?

2. Is the motivation behind what you want to do all about pleasing   Jesus   or   self  ?

3. Consider the result, worldly wisdom brings   chaos   and   tension  ; but Godly wisdom brings peace   and   righteousness  .

Colossians 2:2b, 3; 2 Timothy 3:15, 16; James 1:5; Ephesians 1:17
