Romans 13:1-3; James 1:17

Some things to be thankful for:

1. Our country’s   resources  .

Psalms 65:9

2. Our founding   principles  .

A. That government gets its   authority   from God.

B. The government is   accountable   to the people.

C. Government is capable of   evil   and must be restrained.

3. Our   heroes   who defend freedom.

4. The generous   blessings   of life in America.

Deut. 8:17F; Luke 16:9

5. The influence that   God   has been allowed to have in our nation.

How should we respond?

1.   Pray   for our country’s leaders (1 Tim. 2:1, 2).

2. We need to show   respect   (Rom 13:5-7).

3. We need to uphold   righteousness   and   integrity   in our land. (Isa. 26:2-5).
