SOME COMMON MISCONCEPTIONS ABOUT MARRIAGE:

1. I will live   happily     ever     after  .

1 Cor. 13:4-8; Phil 2:3-4

“’Feeling in love’ is not an involuntary emotion, as much as a product of action that brings good feelings.”

2. I will   change     them   after we are married.

2 Cor. 6:14

“The goal of marriage is not to change the other person, but to love and adjust to them. This is why it is important to marry someone who shares your faith.”

3. Marriage is a   50/50   partnership.

Eph. 5:22-24

“Marriage is not a 50/50 relationship, but where each person gives 100% to obeying God and preserving his model for marriage.”

4. My mate will meet   all   my   needs  .

1 Cor. 7:3-4; Matt 6:33; Phil 4:19

“People should try, but God is the only one who can meet all our needs all the time.”
