Principle One: There is a God to whom we are ultimately   accountable  .

Genesis 2: 15-24; 2 Cor. 5:10

Principle Two: God designed marriage for spiritual purposes that outweigh   personal     selfishness  .

Why did God invent marriage?

1.   Companionship  .

2.   Pleasure   (1 Thess. 4:3-5).

3.   Procreation  .

4.   Develop     maturity  .

5. As an example to the world of God’s   faithfulness   and   love   (Eph. 5:31-32).

Principle Three: Our   holiness   matters more to God than our   happiness  .
