Some enemies of contentment:

1.   Unrealistic   expectations.

Mark 6:34; John 16:33

2.   Unfair   comparisons.

2 Cor. 10:12; Prov. 14:30

3.   Unnoticed   blessings.

1 Tim 6:8

4.   Uncontrolled   ambitions.

James 3:16; Heb. 13:5

Two Secrets of Contentment:

1. Contentment is tied to our spirit of   gratitude   regardless of our circumstances.

2. We need to be determined to   please   Jesus and rely on him above all others.

What does Jesus want?

He wants the   meaning   of the cross to be the center of our lives.

Mark 8:34-36

He wants God’s will to   mean     more   to us than our will.

Romans 12:2,3; 1 Thess 5:16-18
