Rejoicing in Our
Trials

1 Peter 1:3-9
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to
His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through
the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to obtain an inheritance
which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in
heaven for you, who are protected by the power of God through faith for
a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you greatly
rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been
distressed by various trials, that the proof of your faith, being more
precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may
be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of
Jesus Christ; and though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though
you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy
inexpressible and full of glory, obtaining as the outcome of your faith
the salvation of your souls.
A. We receive great REWARDS because of our faith.

What are some of the rewards of keeping faith?
1. A living HOPE .
Romans 5:5; Romans 8:24
2. A great INHERITANCE .
3 Characteristics of this reward:
IMPERISHABLE

UNDEFILED .
WILL
NOT
FADE
AWAY .
Ephesians 1:18; Colossians 3:23-24
3. PROTECTED by God’s power.
Psalm 121:7; 2 Thessalonians 3:3; 2 Timothy 1:7
B. These great rewards result from GENUINE Faith.
1. Lets state the facts
a. You will endure TRIALS . 1 Peter 4:12
b. You will SUFFER in your trials.
Philippians 1:29; Hebrews 2:10; James 1:3
c. You will suffer only TEMPORARILY .
1 Peter 5:10; Rev. 2:10
C. The result of remaining faithful is the SALVATION of your soul.
We must WALK
with Jesus daily!
