“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew
in Christ Jesus, so that we can do the good things he
planned for us long ago (Ephesians 2:10 LB).”

This is our path to greatness, to follow Jesus in a path of downward mobility.

“Jesus did not come to be served but to serve and give his life as a ransom for many (Mark 10:45).”

“…but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant (Phil. 2:7).”

God’s design is that we be contributors not just C O N S U M E R S.

Three Great Truths about Your Life of Service:

  1. Your service is E S S E N T I A L to the body.

1 Corinthians 12:12 Membership? Organization or Organism?

Romans 12: 5, 6 I Peter 4:10-11

  2. To serve you must be A V A I L A B L E.

Matthew 25:14-33 - The talents

The more you understand your value, the more available you will be.

  3. The greatest motivation to serve is found in J E S U S.

John 13:3-5 &12-17

A. Serving flows from knowing who you are and where you are going.

B. The ultimate motivation for serving others is not honor from others but gratitude for the selflessness of Jesus toward us.
