Grace vs. Maturity

We should increase our perceived value of the gift of God's grace and the personal ownership of it.

WAYS WE ABUSE THE GIFT FROM GOD:

1> Galatians 5:16-25 HOLDING ONTO OLD WAYS

- Israelites holding onto idols
- I Corinthians 6:12 Mastered by nothing
- Romans 6:1

2> Galatians 6:1-5 IGNORING THE BODY

- The body is for you and you are for the body
- NOT that the body is only for you
- Grace is meant to be extended

- Matt 18:23 (debt forgiven)

- No one should think themselves more highly than another

3> Galatians 6:7-8 SOW GARBAGE TO REAP GOLD

- People believe God must do them some good in order to truly be God.
- If you believe God exists to make you happy...
- Extend grace as grace has been extended to you.

4> Galatians 6:9-10 FORGETTING THE PERKS

- ISRAEL longed for Egypt when they had the promise of God Himself.
- When times are tough, or when we are abusing the gift in other ways, we lose sight of the hope we're given.
- Focus on the positive and on opportunities God has given you.

We're called to be mature people of God, responsibly using the gift of grace. A question to ask yourself is "Am I seeking to mature myself for the kingdom of God?"
