But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the doors of the jail and brought them out. “Go, stand in the temple courts,” he said, “& tell the people the full message of this new life.” - Acts 5:19-21

(Jesus) has gone into heaven and is at God’s right hand—with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him. - I Peter 3:22

I. Why do we need to study about angels?

Praise him, all his angels, praise him, all his heavenly hosts. Let them praise the name of the LORD, for he commanded and they were created. - Psalm 148:2,5

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. - Colossians 1:15-17

“Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation? Tell me, if you understand. Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know! Who stretched a measuring line across it? On what were its footings set, or who laid its cornerstone—while the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy?” - Job 38:4-7

III. Where do angels reside and how do they operate?

A. Angels live in heaven.

There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven &, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. - Matthew 28:2-4

Not even angels in heaven know when I’m coming back.- Mark 13:32

B. They are ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation. - Hebrews 1:14

C. Some difficult verses:

For it seems to me that God has put us apostles on display at the end of the procession, like men condemned to die in the arena. We have been made a spectacle to the whole universe, to angels as well as to men. - I Corinthians 4:9

and because of the angels, the woman ought to have a sign of authority on their head. - I Corinthians 11:10
