Meant to be Sent

Introduction:  God wants you to have both a ministry in the body of Christ and a mission in the world. We often live life according to our purposes and not God's. When you live life on purpose for God, you are willing to boldly go where you have never gone before.

I. One Contention: We were ____________ to be ____________.

A. Scriptures:

He said to them, "Go into all the world & preach the good news to all creation." - Mark 16:15

As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world - John 17:18

B. We are to be witnesses for Jesus Christ.

The man from whom the demons had gone out begged to go with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying, “Return home & tell how much God has done for you.” So the man went away & told all over town how much Jesus had done for him. - Luke 8:38-39

C. Scriptures:

However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race & complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me - the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace. - Acts 20:24

... that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations - Psalm 67:2

II. Three Convictions:

A. A witness is ____________ of the ____________ for Christ.

1. ________________ is a false doctrine.

2. Two doctrines that need to be recovered:

a. ____________ is real and real ______________ go there.

"For the Son of Man came to seek & to save what was lost.” - Luke 19:10

"Teacher, don't you care if we drown?" - Mark 4:38

The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. - 2 Peter 3:9

While I was with them, I protected them & kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled. - John 17:12

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one & only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." - John 3:16

b. Jesus is the ____________ ________________ to God.

Jesus answered, “I am the way & the truth & the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. - John 14:6

Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved. - Acts 4:12

Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate & broad is the road that leads to destruction, & many enter through it. But small
is the gate & narrow the road that leads to life, & only a few find it. - Matthew 7:13-14

B. A witness is ____________ by the ____________ of Christ.

For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, & therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them & was raised again. So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ & gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. - 2 Corinthians 5:14-21

C. A witness is ____________ about the ____________ of Christ.

1. Scriptures:

Sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth. Sing to the LORD, praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples. - Psalm 96:1-3

For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the Jews on behalf of God’s truth, to confirm the promises made to the patriarchs so that the Gentiles may glorify God for his mercy ... - Romans 15:8-9

2. People don't accidentally get saved.

III. One Conclusion: __________ on purpose means __________ on purpose.
