Genuine Prayer Will Change Us

Scripture Reading: Matthew 6:9-13

"This, then, is how you should pray: 'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.'"

Genesis 20:6-7 God said to the King, “Now return the man's wife, for he is a prophet, and he will pray for you and you will live. But if you do not return her, you may be sure that you and all yours will die."

Genesis 24:12 Then he prayed, "O LORD , God of my master Abraham, give me success today, and show kindness to my master Abraham."

Genesis 24:15 Before he had finished praying, Rebekah came out with her jar on her shoulder. She was the daughter of Bethuel son of Milcah, who was the wife of Abraham's brother Nahor.

Genesis 25:21 Isaac prayed to the LORD on behalf of his wife, because she was barren. The LORD answered his prayer, and his wife Rebekah became pregnant.

Exodus 8:8 Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, "Pray to the LORD to take the frogs away from me and my people, and I will let your people go to offer sacrifices to the LORD ."

1 Samuel 12:23 As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the LORD by failing to pray for you. And I will teach you the way that is good and right.

2 Samuel 7:18-27 Then King David went in and sat before the Lord and said, "Who am I, O Sovereign Lord, ...................O LORD Almighty, God of Israel, you have revealed this to your servant, saying, 'I will build a house for you.' So your servant has found courage to offer you this prayer.'"

1 Kings 13:6 Then the king said to the man of God, "Intercede with the LORD your God and pray for me that my hand may be restored." So the man of God interceded with the LORD , and the king's hand was restored and became as it was before.

2 Kings 20:3, 5 “Remember, O Lord, how I have walked before you faithfully and with wholehearted devotion, and have done what is good in your eyes.......... Go back and tell Hezekiah, the leader of my people, 'This is what the LORD , the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you.'"

2 Chronicles 7:11-14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Matthew 5:44 But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

Matthew 6:5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full."

Matthew 6:9 “This, then, is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,'"
