Introduction: Psalm 122 is part of a group of Psalms called the songs
of ascents. They reflect the heart of a people who are about to engage in
corporate worship before the Lord.
Text: Psalm 122
I rejoiced with those who said to me, "Let us go to the
house of the LORD." Our feet are standing in your gates, O Jerusalem.
Jerusalem is built like a city that is closely compacted together. That is
where the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD, to praise the name of the
LORD according to the statute given to Israel. There the thrones for
judgment stand, the thrones of the house of David. Pray for the peace of
Jerusalem: "May those who love you be secure. May there be peace within
your walls and security within your citadels." For the sake of my brothers
and friends, I will say, "Peace be within you." For the sake of the house
of the LORD our God, I will seek your prosperity.

walk in the light of your presence, O LORD. - Psalm 89:15

When I tried to understand all this, it was oppressive
to me till I entered the sanctuary of God; then I understood their final
destiny. - Psalm 73:16-17
III. It's best to go ...
A. When you are _____________ to be __________.
B. When you are _____________ to be __________.
How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together
in unity! - Psalm 133:1
Conclusion: Life can be hard. People are battered and
trying to come up for air. That's why we come on Sunday morning and
Wednesday night.
