Eat & Run

Introduction: Have you ever wondered if you will ever leave some place? The Hebrews were likely wondering if they were ever going to leave Egypt. What is it going to take for them to leave? The story of the exodus also gives us insight into Christ as our Passover.

Text: Exodus 11-12

I. Israel Liberated

II. Salvation Illustrated

A. Salvation denotes ______________________________.

Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'  - Matthew 7:21-23

B. Salvation denies ______________________________.

And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross. - Colossians 2:15

Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved. - Acts 4:12

C. Salvation demands ______________________________.

For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. - I Peter 1:18-20

D. Salvation required ______________________________.

In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. - Hebrews 9:22

By faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of blood, so that the destroyer of the firstborn would not touch the firstborn of Israel. - Hebrews 11:28

E. Salvation declares ______________________________.

F. Salvation desires ______________________________.

to him who struck down the firstborn of Egypt His love endures forever.

and brought Israel out from among them His love endures forever.

with a mighty hand and outstretched arm; His love endures forever.

to him who divided the Red Sea asunder His love endures forever.

and brought Israel through the midst of it, His love endures forever.

but swept Pharaoh and his army into the Red Sea; His love endures forever.

- Psalm 136:10-15

G. Salvation derives ______________________________.

On that day tell your son, 'I do this because of what the LORD did for me when I came out of Egypt.' This observance will be for you like a sign on your hand and a reminder on your forehead that the law of the LORD is to be on your lips. For the LORD brought you out of Egypt with his mighty hand. - Exodus 13:8-9

III. God demonstrated ______________________________.
