Introduction: The subject of giving is really a study
of faith. Can we really believe what God says about this subject? Do not allow
abusive teaching to cause you to miss out on something that God has in mind.
Possessions and materialism can be a trap that can cause us to lose our dedication
and commitment to the kinds of spiritual disciplines God wants us to have.
What Will Generous Giving Really Do?
I. It will help you stay ______________ to ____________.
A. ____________ ______________ is vital for faithfulness.
1. Our hearts must increase.
"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where
moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store
up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy,
and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is,
there your heart will be also. - Matthew 6:19-21
2. Our service must increase.
B. ____________ ______________ produces spiritual growth.
C. It is _____________ to stay faithful to God without ____________.
II. It will help you be ____________ to the ____________.
A. The Lord's church is like a second family.
B. When the church is going well, we always feel better.
C. A giving church gives excitement and strength that we can
see.
Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly,
and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give
what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion,
for God loves a cheerful giver. - II Corinthians 9:6-7
