I. We will be encountered:

1. We live in enemy territory.
2. There is no such thing as neutral ground.

B. The ____________ of temptation does not mean the ____________ of God.

1. We can't avoid the devil, but we can learn to resist him.
2. I Corinthians 10:13
3. II Thessalonians 3:3
4. Jesus knew what it was like to be tempted and tried.

a. Hebrews 2:17-18
b. Hebrews 4:14-16

II. We can be encouraged:

A. Remember Jesus was a ____________ man.

1. Romans 3:22
2. Galatians 3:26-27
3. In Jesus Christ, you are clothed with his perfect righteousness.

B. Remember Jesus was a sinless ____________.

1. Every resource Jesus used is available to you.
2. Spectacular achievement is always preceded by unspectacular preparation.

III. We must be intentional:

A. By ____________ our ____________ out to God.

1. When we spend time with God, we win the battle of the mind.
2. Prayer changes things, but even more it changes me.

B. We must ____________ God's ____________ in our hearts.

1. Jesus was nourished by the word of God and it showed.
2. Psalm 119:11

Conclusion: God has provided ammunition to help you resist the devil. The problem is that some of us don't have any ammunition stockpiled. Prepare for temptation through prayer and the Word of God.
