Introduction: Christ has never been insufficient to meet your spiritual
needs. What has been insufficient are ways Christ has been taught. Many are
masters at the tactic of spiritual intimidation.
Text: Colossians 2:16-23
Our world is very similar to what the Colossians had to deal
with.
I. How Paul deals with the problem:
A. He exalts the ____________ of ____________.
B. He exposes the ____________ of man-made
_____________.
II. Popular forms of Spiritual intimidation.
A. ____________________ - Colossians 2:16-17
B. ____________________ - Colossians 2:18
C. ____________________ - Colossians 2:20-22
III. All these approaches promote ____________.
A. An external approach can never change an internal
bent.
B. A yoke controls what you do, but it will not change
who you are.
C. The only path to true spirituality is Christ in
you, the hope of glory.
D. Galatians 5:16
E. II Corinthians 3:17-18
F. Galatians 5:22-23
Conclusion: There's a difference between Jesus just being
a guest and Him living in your life. Don't let spiritual bullies determine who
you are.
