Team Update

Greetings from dry, dusty, cool and beautiful Togo! The seasonal changes are in full swing and it is interesting to see the transition from lush and green to dry and dead. We enjoy the cooler temps that come with this time of year, our winter season :)

The ladies on the team were blessed this week by attending the 2nd annual Kabiye Women's Retreat in the village of Lassa Tchou. The Kabiye women took the initiative to once again plan and pull off the retreat with very little logistical support from our team. Praise God for this step of maturity and growth!

This week you will be receiving an email with instructions on signing up for the Together for Togo Conference. We have a registration website up and running, and once we iron out a few details, we will be offering everyone a chance to sign up for this great event. Remember, Together for Togo is April 3-5 at the GracePointe Church of Christ in Montgomery, Alabama. The list of speakers includes Tom Moore, Bryan Ries, Frank Bunner and many others with strong connections to Togo missions. Hope to see you there!

Greetings from dusty but cooler Togo! This has been a busy week for our family and we are excited to share it with you. First of all, Elijah turned 8 on the 13th but we were unable to celebrate with his party until this past Monday because we took a quick weekend trip to Pendjari game park which was wonderful! We celebrated Elijah's “Game Cube” themed birthday with friends playing video games, playing outside, and a hot dog / hamburger cookout. (Remember, we said it’s cooler here, but that means it only gets up to mid 80s during the day!) One highlight for Elijah was going fishing with his new rod and reel. No fish were caught on this trip but he did receive a number of bites and he was just thrilled to be out on the river with his Dad.

This week David has been busy with drilling out in the village of Tchefengda. We have had our share of difficulties but should be casing a well in this upcoming week. The well drilling team that is forming in Tchefengda is very committed and seems to be really buying into the idea of the new technique. God also provided David with a great opportunity to share the gospel message with some of the men on the drilling team yesterday. Please pray for this training time.

Becky enjoyed very much spending this past Friday through Sunday out in the village of Lassa Tchou with ladies from all over Kabiyeland for the second annual Ladies Retreat. She walked the two hours out to the village and was able to spend the whole weekend communing with her sisters in Christ. Hannah also came out on Saturday after school and spent the rest of the retreat alongside her mom. The retreat was a great success as some 40 Kabiye women attended and shared in a wonderful time of Bible study, prayer, worship, teaching, and fellowship. Everything was planned and scheduled by the ladies from Lassa Tchou who hosted the retreat. They asked our team ladies to perform some skits on Saturday morning and Becky really enjoyed performing these with the other ladies on the team, as well as Andrea's mother who is visiting. These skits were received very well, taught some deep spiritual truths, and the ladies had a great time putting them on.

Thanks to each of you for your prayers and support. God blesses us through you and we praise him for your part in this ministry.
