Team Update

We are excited to introduce you to our newest team members, Andrew and Julia Stoff. Andrew and Julia are from Brisbane, Australia, and are currently raising support to begin French language school in Albertville in January. We are excited that God continues to add harvesters to his field in Togo. Please read the Stoff's news below for an introduction from them.

The team has enjoyed a blessed period of visitors over the past few weeks. The most recent visitors came from GracePointe in Montgomery, Alabama, the overseeing church of the Emersons as well as the Howards from the Homewood church in Birmingham.

We hope everyone is preparing to com to the 2009 Together for Togo conference which will be taking place this spring at the Grace Pointe Church of Christ in Montgomery, Alabama! The dates will be April 3-5. More details will follow in the coming weeks and months, so for now just go and block out the dates on your calendar. We look forward to fellowshipping together with family, friends and supporters and celebrating what God is doing in Togo. May He be glorified in all that we do here!

David, Becky, Hannah, Elijah, Gabriel & Caleb Reeves - kabiye4christ@yahoo.fr

Greetings from the Reeves family! Here's what's going on with us: David continues to mentor one of the leaders in the village of Tchefengda and has also continued in some agricultural ministry in the village of Soumdina Po Wayi. He has helped plant crops, cut grass and taught them how to build a compost pit to make natural fertilizer for their fields this next planting season. They spent this past Friday collecting cattle manure and transporting it back to their village. This is decidedly David's least favorite part of the process, especially collecting manure on a morning after it has rained!

Becky continues her weekly mentoring studies with Christianne from Lassa Tchou and Mazalo from Soumdina Po Wayi, studying the Bible inductively. The application times have been rich for Becky and for these women. God's word is so very alive and active!! She is also continuing to study once a week with a young woman that works at the grocery store here in town.

Thank you for all of you who prayed for Elijah's healing from malaria a couple of weeks back. He is healthy and doing very well.

We bonded (stayed overnight and hung out with people) as a whole family in the village of Soumdina Po Wayi this past weekend. It was a good first family bonding experience and we have things in mind to improve our next experience. All of us wish it had been longer. The children weren't able to do as much helping with tasks as they had hoped. Hannah did get to help cook dinner, though. (see picture) And the boys had a great time playing with the other children...soccer in the afternoon and a version of flashlight tag in the evening. (David shone a flashlight around and all of the children of the house we stayed in raced to put their hand on the dark spot in the middle of the light).

In other news we have now been without internet at our house for a month. If you haven't heard as much from us as usual this is the reason! We have a new computer arriving with the Kennell family in early November and we hope that this will remedy the problem. Please pray for these connections to be up and running again soon.

Finally, we are preparing for our long anticipated survey trip to Rwanda this next week with the Miller family. Our family will be leaving Kara on Monday and dropping by the Baptist hospital to have Elijah's ear checked on again that he has had trouble with. Then, we will arrive in Accra, Ghana on Tuesday. The Miller family and our family will leave on Ethiopian Air on Wednesday morning and arrive in Kigali, Rwanda on Thursday. We will be in Rwanda until November 6th and then we'll be in Accra, Ghana again until November 11th at which point we'll return to Kara with the Kennell family in tow! Please pray for all of our travels and especially for confirmation of future ministries for both of our families during our survey time. May God's blessings be yours in Christ Jesus!
