Team Update
The team is excited to welcome our third teacher, Bennett Ritchie,
who arrived in Kara this past Saturday. With his arrival, the
preschoolers will now begin school. The Millers and the team enjoyed
hosting the Brannans and Ganns from the Homewood Church in Birmingham.
Their visit was a blessing.
We were also blessed to host our friend and brother Late Simlen who
is helping us to introduce some new agricultural ideas to our churches.
Read the Reeves update to learn more about how Late is blessing our
churches.

Hello
to everyone in God's kingdom. We are so thankful for life in Christ and
we're excited to share what has been going on in our family the past
couple of weeks. On the family front, there are two big pieces of news.
School has started and Caleb turned two years old on August 23rd. Hannah
(5th) and Elijah (3rd) have enjoyed their first few days of school and
love their new teachers, Bekah and Daniel. Their third teacher, Bennett,
has just arrived so Gabriel will now start Pre-K. We are thankful for a
good start to the new year and for these wonderful teachers. Caleb has
turned two and we are so thankful for him. We're waiting to have his
party until next week. We'll post birthday pictures in our next update.
Check out pictures of Caleb on his birthday on Becky's blog.
http://beckyreeves.wordpress.com Allergies have kicked in again for
David, especially, with the tasseling of the corn so please pray for
relief for him.. Otherwise, our health is really good right now and we
praise God for his protection and care.
Work these past couple weeks has been multi-faceted and in flux. David
has been drilling wells for the past few months, but because of the
excessive rains has postponed well drilling until November. In the
meantime, he has begun working with agricultural development in the
village of Tchefengda while at the same time mentoring
Sobo, one of the leaders there, into a deeper relationship with Christ.
This past week David worked with Late (a Christian man from Lome who is
an agronomist) to teach composting and soil renewal through organic
methods. The Christians are very excited to learn and David hopes that
this will be a path for introducing these same techniques to other
villages in the future. Becky continues her Bible studies with ladies
here in Kara and they are going well. Please pray for her and the ladies
who are involved.
Becky
is also working as a liaison between Christian Relief Fund and the aids
orphans and other orphans that they help sponsor through the churches in
the villages of Lassa Tchou and Soumdina Po
Wayi. Please pray for these children and the Christians in
these churches as they minister to them and the adults who take care of
them. If you are interested in supporting a Kabiye child who has been
orphaned, please contact Christian Relief Fund via their website at
www.christianrelieffund.org and ask to sponsor a child from Togo.
There are currently 13 children being sponsored through the church in
Soumdina Po Wayi and there are 12 more in Lassa Tchou who need
sponsorship. Most of these children are currently being helped to some
extent by the Christians as they are able but many go hungry on a daily
basis and none of these children have access to schooling or health care
without outside sponsorship. One of the orphans from Lassa Tchou in need
of sponsorship is pictured here.
May God bless you and thank you so much for your prayers! Love, the
Reeves family
