Team Update

It is summer internship time again! The team is enjoying hosting 12 college students from Harding and ACU for our seventh annual summer internship. We always enjoy the energy and encouragement interns bring to us each year, and we have a great group this summer. It is our prayer that these young people will be influenced to spread the Kingdom of God wherever he may lead them in the future, and that some of them will return one day to work in Africa.

We are also excited to be hosting the Heads for two weeks as Melissa is introduced to Kabiye land and the team continues to build relationships with them. Their presence has already been a blessing, and we sense that they will fit in well to the team.

We continue to seek partners to help fund our well project and our team school, Kara Christian Academy. If anyone is interested in finding out more about how they can be involved in these aspects of our team, please e-mail us at kabiyemission@yahoo.com.

Greetings from the Reeves family. We are greatly enjoying internship and being blessed by interacting with our student visitors. The past week has been full of activity from tree planting, checking up on some AIDS orphans, hiking to a waterfall, getting ready for the next stage of well drilling to take place in the Ndjei cluster, a missionary night out (as we've been privileged to welcome Ryan and Melissa Head, our future teammates, as they visit for a couple of weeks), a day for the interns to shadow the women missionaries to see what their daily lives are like, a devotional time and worship together, church in the village, and a game night. Whew!

Our children are continuing their French lessons a couple of times a week and Hannah and Elijah have been very excited about the beginnings of their joint participation with Abby and Aidan Miller in the Keepers of the Faith clubs that they have joined. They are so excited to learn many new skills and earn badges for their achievements. To check out this neat program go to www.keepersofthefaith.com.

Becky and Hannah helped a very dehydrated and malnourished baby get to the hospital on Friday of this past week. Some of the Christians in Lassa Tchou noticed that the baby was not thriving a week after its mother had died. The father lives in the south of the country and has never been present with the rest of his family. 3 hours after they arrived at the hospital 9 month old Jaque died. The mother who died left behind three other children. Please pray for the church in Lassa Tchou as they strive to minister to this family who is so in need of help right now. Check out Becky's blog on for the rest of the story: http://beckyreeves.wordpress.com

David along with some of the drill team from Lassa Tchou began drilling a new well in the village of Ndjei on Tuesday of this week. Please pray for success in drilling and praise God for the interest that at least one man has shown in Lassa Tchou of learning about Jesus as a result of Christ's love he has seen in the drilling they have been doing in his village.

Thank you so much for your prayers and support for our family, the Kabiye, and our team. We pray God's richest blessings on all of you!
