Team Update

The team has had a busy time of travel recently including trips to Ghana for the West African Missionary Retreat and to say goodbye to the Rieses and a trip to Lome to pick up our 12 summer interns. We are thankful for God's protection through all of these travels.

It was with great sadness that the team sent off the Ries family for their return to the States. Though the goodbye was difficult, we are grateful for the loving way that the Rieses included the team in all aspects of their return, from the initial decision to the final goodbye. It is will confidence that they are walking in the will of God that we commit them to their new lives in America. They have been a great blessing to the team and to the Kabiye people, and we know they will be a blessing wherever God leads them in the States. Please be in prayer for their transition!

Finally, our 2008 summer internship has begun! 12 students from Harding and ACU arrived in Kara on Wednesday and are jumping into missionary life in Kara. We are enjoying getting to know them and watching their first steps in learning about the Kabiye people's language and culture.

Greetings from the Reeves family! We are well rejuvenated and thankful for the great blessing that our time was in Ghana at the West African Missionary Retreat this past week. We also had both a blessed and sad time of farewells to the Ries family. We already miss them very much and covet your prayers both for them as a family as they return to life in the states and for our family and team as we miss our dear friends, fellow workers, and brothers and sisters in the Lord.

We enjoyed hosting Andy and Melissa Johnson and their family for a couple of nights earlier this week while they passed through on their way back to Burkina Faso. We are also looking forward to the arrival of our 12 summer interns from Harding and Abilene Christian Universities this coming Wednesday. We have had some phone and internet problems but everything seems to be back in working order just in time for our next crew of visitors. Praise God!

David is busy making plans for drilling another pump well beginning in a week and a half in a different neighborhood of Lassa Tchou. Please continue to pray for him and the interns and Kabiye Christians who will be helping as this ministry continues over the next few months.

Also, pray for Becky as she continues her mentoring study time on Thursday mornings at our house with a couple of ladies from village churches close to Kara. They are in John chapter 9 as they work their way through the gospel of John. These are rich times of seeing Jesus anew for both Becky and these ladies and Becky is so thankful that God ordained this weekly opportunity with David gone so much of the week with well drilling. God is good!

Hannah, Elijah, Gabriel, and Caleb all had a wonderful time at WAMR and enjoyed the VBS and time on the beach and in the pools. Hannah and Becky even were able to go on the Kakum Rain Forest Canopy Walk about 45 minutes away from the beach on Becky's birthday. Although they were over 90 meters in the air walking on suspended rope bridges, Hannah walked from bridge to bridge quickly and said it wasn't as adventurous or scary as she had hoped it would be! (For all of you who know Hannah this seems like a minor miracle that she was even able to step on these bridges!!) We also were very happy to get to visit the new mall in Accra. All we can say is "Wow!" For a couple of days we thought we were in America.

Thank you so much for your prayers and support for our family and team. Please drop us an email or give us a call and let us know how we can be praying for you! Love, the Reeves family
