Kabiye Team News Team Update Transition is the buzz word for the Kabiye team these days. The team will be traveling to Ghana this weekend for the West African Missionary Retreat and to see off the Rieses, who are returning to the States after eight years of service in Togo. They will be greatly missed. The Emerson family are returning from their furlough in the States. The Kennell family is also preparing to return to the States for a few months of visiting with family and supporters before making their permanent move to Togo. The Hangens will soon be moving to France for language school, and the team is about to receive 12 summer interns from Harding and Abilene Christian Universities! We would appreciate your prayers for God's hand to be on all of us and the Kabiye churches throughout these transitions. David, Becky, Hannah, Elijah, Gabriel & Caleb Reeves - kabiye4christ@yahoo.fr We are officially in the big transition week! The Rieses have moved out of their house, Matthew Waller has begun his trip back to the states via Lome, Accra, and Ethiopia and we're getting ready to see the Kennells and Rieses off and welcome this summer's interns before the end of the month. Please pray for all of us as it is so difficult to say goodbye, especially to the Ries family.
We are very grateful for Matt Waller and Water For All International's help in getting the well work started here. Matthew Waller is heading back to the states and will begin work on a master's degree at Baylor University. Please pray for his travels over the next few days as he works his way back through 3 countries. We also enjoyed worshipping with our teammates and other Christians from Soumdina Po Wayi and surrounding villages last Sunday as they dedicated their new church building. Caleb especially liked walking up and down some village paths before worship began. Becky continues to meet on Thursday mornings with Christianne. Her husband, Jean Marie, is one of the elders in Lassa Tchou. Last Thursday another Christian lady from another village, Mazalo, came into town and joined their study. check out Becky's blog post entitled "When These Worlds Collide" for more on what's been happening in our family. Finally, Becky has been able to learn a few words in Kinyarwandan with Andrea Miller as a Kinyarwandan lady who lives near Kara has come into town to teach them some greetings and basic expressions. Becky is enjoying the sound and challenge of a new language and David hopes to have some time to learn a little Kinyarwandan, too, before we take a two week survey trip in October to Rwanda with the Miller family. May God's blessings be upon you! Thank you so much for your prayers for us!
