Team Update

PRAISE GOD! We have 3 school teachers for the 2008-2009 school year! Bekah Gibbs, Daniel Nicholas, and Bennett Ritchie will join us next fall, and we are so thankful to God for providing for this need. Thank you for your prayers in this matter!

The Kennells have arrived! Praise God for bringing them to this point in their journey back to Togo. They arrived safely on Sunday night, and they will be arriving in Kara on Tuesday evening. Please pray for the Kennells as they transition to this new culture, and for our team as we integrate a new family into our lives and work. God is good!

Reeves Family Update - kabiye4christ@gmail.com

Hello everyone. This has been a full and exciting week for us. We have not really felt the post holiday funk this year due in large part to the fact that we have stayed busy. We have spent a great amount of time preparing for the Kennell's imminent arrival. Knowing that an entire family would be living in the upstairs apartment of our schoolhouse has made it necessary to make a few more modifications than normal. Those improvements are finished and we are really looking forward to the Kennell's arrival in a couple of days.

Other exciting news is that today is Elijah's 7th birthday! It is hard to believe that he is 7 years old! A sleepover and camp out is planned in our yard with all his 2nd grade friends and should be a lot of fun. Next week we will share details. Caleb is growing up as well. This week he finally decided he would start walking. He will stand in the middle of the floor for long stretches at a time with a slight wobble and watch his favorite video. He is even trying his hand at "running." Hannah is excited to renew a friendship with Maddie Kennell and Gabe is simply doing his best to test all of our parenting strategies. All in all a week filled with great things! We are thankful to God for our children.

The main excitement in the working arena is the addition of five souls to the kingdom of God in Tchefengda. The chief, his wife and three young men were baptized on Saturday and the joy was overflowing as I witnessed the chief's own son baptize his mother and father. They had been delaying their decision for some time now and we are rejoicing that finally they took this great step of faith. Please be looking at David's blog for a complete account of this wonderful event. Please be praying for Palakindi, Hodolo, Sim-ma-nyang, Patron and Kossi.

Thank you for your partnership in this work. Know that you are in our prayers and God bless you this week! The Reeves
