Team Update
Help! The Kara Christian Academy needs to fill teaching
slots for the spring semester of 2007-08 school year. If you, or anyone
you know, would like to teach three bright and energetic 2nd graders or
their 3 younger, pre-school aged brothers, please contact Andrea Miller at
kabiyemission@yahoo.com.
We are also looking for new teachers for the 2008-2009 school year!
This week we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Don, Jane, Mary
Claire, Peter, Rachel and Honor Neal, former members of the Kabiye team
who are coming for a 2 week visit. We look forward to a great time of
reconnecting with them and sharing again in the blessing of their lives.
Please pray for the Neals to have safe travels and a fulfilling trip
back to Kabiyeland.
We will be a separated as a team for the next month or so as Brett &
April are in Accra waiting for the arrival of their 2nd baby.
Please pray for a safe and healthy delivery!

What an eventful week this has been! Eventful in a different way than
last week thankfully but filled with activity all the same.
We still ask for you to be praying for Esowe Adam and her family.
We know that healing is still taking place and only God can put those
pieces back together. Our grief is of a different type this week.
David and Matt took a quick trip with a few of the Kabiye church leaders
to the far northwest corner of Togo. Perhaps you have seen or heard in
the news about the disastrous flooding that took place in the Kpenjal
region. Earlier this summer we spent some time there along with our
interns surveying the Gourmantche people. Soon after we left, torrential
rains fell for two months straight. The result was heavy flooding and
near total loss of their crops. Homes were destroyed and many lost their
lives. Matt and David saw this first hand during their trip and we
grieve because we know hardship is just around the corner for these
wonderful people. We ask that you pray earnestly for the
people in this region and that many in Togo and around the world will
open their hearts and pocketbooks to help with this great need.
Keep an eye on our blogs for more updates concerning this great need.
Work has been fairly routine this week. Following the baptisms in
Tchefengda two Saturdays ago, it appears that others
are interested in following Jesus. Please pray that those who are
interested will not be discouraged and that they will take this step of
faith. Becky is excited about developments out in Lassa Tchou.
The ladies in this church are going to be hosting the first ever women's
only retreat. The retreat will be in the middle of December and so far
we have seen very enthusiastic responses from Christian ladies
throughout the church. Keep the planning for this retreat in your
prayers as well.
Our family is doing great! Caleb is growing up so fast. Hannah is
becoming a young lady and is rapidly coming to terms with her spiritual
condition and how much she loves and needs God. Elijah loves to read and
is so intense right now about doing hard work for extra money. He is
saving for an iPod shuffle. Gabriel is three and testing all the limits
of his parents patience. Please pray for our kids.
As a family we are very excited about the Neal's return trip during the
next several days. The kids are so excited to see their friends and we
(David and Becky) are looking forward to catching up with Don and Jane.
You are in our prayers. We love you so much and so thankful for our
partnership in the Gospel. May God bless each of you!
