Team Update

Help! The Kara Christian Academy needs to fill teaching slots for the spring semester of 2007-08 school year. If you, or anyone you know, would like to teach three bright and energetic 2nd graders or their 3 younger, pre-school aged brothers, please contact Tracey Ries at kabiyemission@yahoo.com. We are also looking for new teachers for the 2008-2009 school year!

Together for Togo was a huge success! It was well attended by missionaries from the past, present and future, plenty of family members, representatives from the sponsoring churches of current missionaries, and lots of people who are friends and supporters of God's mission here. Thank you to everyone for your outpouring of love and support during this conference! We are already looking forward to 2009 when the conference will be hosted by the Grace Pointe Church of Christ in Montgomery, AL, Brett and April Emerson's sponsoring church. God is good!

Things are moving right along here as we transition from the rainy season to the dry season. Please pray that God will use this dry season as a time of great growth among the Kabiye churches. We are excited about seeing what God will use us for in the months ahead, and we thank you for joining us on this journey!

Reeves Family Update - kabiye4christ@gmail.com

Greetings to all from our family. This past week has heralded with what appears to be the beginning of hotter temperatures. Sometimes it is strange how quickly the feeling of heat can come and with it things begin to dry up. As people finish up harvesting their crops, this also spells the beginning of the time when people have more time to stop and listen to God's Word. So, please be praying for this upcoming dry season and the evangelism and teaching that will be taking place.

David and Becky both have had really good visits this week with the churches. This past Friday David read through 1 John in Bodowda and it stirred up some lively discussion. We praise God when it is obvious that He is moving through the reading of his Word. Saturday in Tchefengda about twenty young people came and there appears to be a few who will be baptized this coming Saturday. Please pray for the hearts of these who appear to be interested in giving their lives to Jesus. Also this week continue to pray for the churches in Legue Legue and Hade Te/Kaacade. Pictures of these churches are attached with this blurb.

Becky spent this past Tuesday with the Christian ladies in Lassa Tchou and enjoyed a very intimate and transparent teaching time with them. The women in Lassa Tchou have agreed to plan a movement wide Ladies' Retreat at some point during this next year. We are excited for this retreat to be an encouragement to Christian ladies all over Kabiyeland. Pray for these wonderful ladies! Also be sure and check out Becky's blog for a more detailed account of her visit with the Lassa Tchou ladies: http://beckyreeves.wordpress.com

Our family is doing well with only a few bumps. Caleb is suffering from some impetigo and we are treating him. Things seem to be improving and we are thankful. Allergies continue to plague us, especially David, from time to time and we ask that you pray for relief. Otherwise things have been good this week. The kids are really engaged in, and enjoying, school. Hannah enjoyed a dinner and movie this week with Miss Emily and Abby and had a great time. Thank you for your prayers for our family, team, and the movement of God's Spirit among the Kabiye people. May God bless you!!
