Team Update

Help! The Kara Christian Academy needs to fill teaching slots for the spring semester of 2007-08 school year. If you, or anyone you know, would like to teach three bright and energetic 2nd graders or their 3 younger, pre-school aged brothers, please contact Tracey Ries at kabiyemission@yahoo.com. We are also looking for new teachers for the 2008-2009 school year!

Together for Togo is here! We are expecting a great turnout this weekend at Preston Road Church of Christ in Dallas, including two of our own, Bryan and Matt. Please pray for the success of the conference as we seek to draw closer to each other as supporters of God's mission in Togo and to learn more about how He is at work here!

The team enjoyed a wonderful annual retreat this past week at Coconut Grove beach resort in Ghana. We were so blessed in our relationships with each other and in sharing our dreams, visions and goals for the future. We also had time for personal spiritual reflection and renewal and some great family bonding time. We thank God for providing this rich time for our team.

Greetings to each of one of you! We are always so thankful to share with you through this newsletter and hope it finds all of you doing well. These past several days have been very busy and refreshing. David's visits with the churches has been encouraging. Through his discussions with the Christians in Bodowdaa, Legue Legue, Hade Te and Kaacade there seems to be a renewed sense of direction and purpose with these bodies of believers. With each church there has been a need to bring a new and refreshed vision for what they need to be doing and how to go about it. David has been doing a basic roll call to discover the state of each of these churches. Who are the faithful members, who has fallen away and how can we encourage their return to faithfully following Christ and how can we reach out to those who are interested and want to hear more? In weeks ahead David will be probing these question with the members of these churches while at the same time continuing to work through the study on Kingdom Living. Please be in prayer for the members of these churches as they struggle to put their faith in action and live faithful and fruitful lives for God.

We also seek your prayers for the young but developing well project. David hopes to learn more in the next week as he has finally found a probable contact with the Water For All group. If he can make direct contact, he hopes to plan a trip to the States to attend a camp on their drilling techniques. Please pray for information to be forthcoming and for funding to become available for the flight to the states.

We had a great time at Coconut Grove in Elmina, Ghana for our annual "away from Kara" team retreat. It was relaxing and good to renew relationships and to get to know some of our newer teammates a little better. Our children all had a wonderful time in the ocean and being with friends and we were so blessed to have Bethany and Tyler Friesen come to help watch the older children while we had team meetings. We always come back from our "vacations" a bit more tired physically than when we left, but we feel spiritually refreshed and are thankful. David continues to suffer from allergies but was thankful for the reprieve at the beach. Please continue to pray for him to find relief from these. Becky is continuing to enjoy teaching preschool on Wednesday and Saturday mornings and we are busy sliding back into family routines with school and chores around the house. Caleb loved the ocean and continues to be an active, intent explorer around our house. Thank you for your prayers for our family! If you would like to receive our monthly family newsletter please drop us an email. May God bless you!
