Reeves Family Update -

 Greetings!
We are very happy to be back together again as a family! The last couple
of weeks have been wonderful but we missed one another. Becky, Caleb,
and Hannah had a wonderful quick 10 day trip to the states to attend
Becky's cousin's wedding and to see her new niece and to visit with
other family members. Hannah was able to see her first Christian,
American wedding and she was so happy that she cried at the end of it!
What a blessing it was for them to be with family and reconnect with so
many. David, Elijah, and Gabriel faired pretty well here in Kara and
spent a lot of time together working on the new preschool room at the
schoolhouse, fixing up the school yard, and finishing up last minute
repairs before the school year started. Gabriel had a spot of malaria,
but is fully recovered and we are thankful. Becky began teaching
preschool this past Wednesday and is enjoying her small little class and
new classroom. She will be teaching this fall for 2 mornings a week and
plans to still do women's lessons in the villages once a week. David
continues to enjoy the goat project but has found he is allergic to the
musk of the male goats, among other allergens this time of year.
Please
pray for David to be delivered from all of the side effects and fatigue
that come with his allergies. None of the typical medications completely
alleviate his symptoms. We were able to enroll MenteEsso, the little
deaf girl down our street, into a deaf school here in Kara. She will
start near the end of this month. Please continue to pray for this
family. The mother is much more involved with her children than
previously and seems to be taking more responsibility in caring for
them. The cultural barriers make us handicapped in always knowing
exactly what is going on. Please pray for these children and their
mother to come to know the Lord and to find true rest and care in Him.
We have enjoyed the day we've already been able to spend with Matt and
Grace Hangen and are looking forward to hosting them in our home over
the next 4 days. Please pray for their time here as they bond with our
team and some Kabiye Christians. We love and miss all of you...those of
you we've seen recently and those of you whom we haven't seen for years.
