Team Update

Help! The Kara Christian Academy needs to fill teaching slots for the spring semester of 2007-08 school year. If you, or anyone you know, would like to teach three bright and energetic 2nd graders or their 3 younger, pre-school aged brothers, please contact Tracey Ries at btries@kabiyemission.org. We are also looking for new teachers for the 2008-2009 school year!

Together for Togo is coming! Head over to http://togo2007.com for details and to register for this big event. We hope you will plan to attend the bi-annual conference October 5-7 at the Preston Road Church of Christ in Dallas. Many current and former missionaries to Togo will be present including the Koonce and Crowson families from the Watchi team and our very own Bryan Ries and Matt Miller form the Kabiye Team!

We are thrilled to have Emily Dunnagan here with us as our new 2nd grade teacher! Emily arrived in Accra this past Wednesday and is currently getting settled in to life here. She was a teacher for the Watchi team during the 2006-2007 school year, and she will be returning to that team in January. Welcome Emily!

We would also like to announce that the Kennell family will be joining us here in Kara for 5 months beginning in January. They will be living at the schoolhouse, and Nicole will be teaching the 2nd graders for the spring semester while Mark studies Kabiye and works in the villages. Please pray for the Kennells as they work towards their fundraising goals to help them meet their departure goal of January 2008.

Reeves Family Update - kabiye4christ@gmail.com

Hello to each one of you. We are so thankful for the blessing of friendship and partnership that we share with you. Our family is divided again. Becky has taken Hannah and Caleb for a short trip to the states. While there, she is attending her cousins wedding and enjoying a little special time with her beautiful baby niece Anna Jane Lanning. Over the past few months she has wanted to see her and hold her so badly and then a wedding invitation arrived here from her cousin and that tipped the tables in favor of a brief trip. This weekend she is attending the wedding and next weekend will return here to Kara. Already they have enjoyed the time spent with family. Meanwhile the boys and I have been enjoying some much needed guy hang out time. We have a campout planned for this week complete with campfire, hotdogs and s'mores. We had planned a brief safari trip to Pendjari, but Gabriel came down with a light case of malaria. So pray for his healing. We miss Mommy, Hannah and Caleb but we are making it just fine.

Work continues to be hit and miss with the growing season in full swing, but this has given me opportunities to spend some additional office time preparing lessons and most importantly covering these growing churches with prayer. Please join me in prayer for Legue Legue, Bodowdaa, Tchefengda, Hade Te and Kaacade. Pray for their hearts to be listening for God even in the midst of their daily work and to not forsake spending time together as brothers and sisters in Christ.

Our goat farm/development project continues to grow. Within the last week two goats gave birth. In fact, as I write this update I am making periodic trips to the goat pens to check on babies that were just born. One of the babies is very weak and small and did not get a good start. Now, however, she is up and walking and I think she will make it.

That is about it for us this week. We love you all so much and continually ask God to supply you with all you need. Thanks so much for your support. The Reeves Family
