Team Update

Help! The Kara Christian Academy needs to fill two (2) teaching slots for the 2007-08 school year. If you, or anyone you know, would like to teach three bright and energetic 2nd graders or their 3 younger, pre-school aged brothers, please contact Tracey Ries at btries@kabiyemission.org.

Together for Togo is coming! Please continue to check http://togo2007.com for details and plan to attend the bi-annual conference October 5-7 at the Preston Road Church of Christ in Dallas.

We're down to the final few days of Summer Internship 2007! The summer has flown by, and our 12 interns have touched our hearts as well as the lives of everyone they have come into contact with. Please pray for their safe travel back to the States, for smooth transition back into American culture, and for their futures as they discern where God will lead them next. We love you guys!

Team life continues to be defined by travel. The Rieses are currently on their way home form a missionary retreat in Kenya, and Brett, Bryan and Matt will be traveling down to Accra, Ghana to drop off the interns for their flight home. On Wednesday, Brett and Matt leave Accra for a survey and service trip to southern Sudan. Please pray for God's protection over everyone's comings and goings.

Reeves Family Update - kabiye4christ@gmail.com

Greetings from the Reeves family! We are happy to all be back together again as David has returned from survey with Matt, Brett, and our Harding interns. We've enjoyed hosting Mary Margaret, Olivia, Sarah, and Angela during this last round of interns. We've also enjoyed having Stephanie in our home this past week and getting to know John, Ross, Heather, and Ken (Harding students and professor,) who have all been visiting with our team this week. We've had big meals, serving 10 or 11 at our table every meal and Becky has especially enjoyed the big group mealtimes! Becky and the girls in our home enjoyed teaching a women's lesson on cleanliness in food preparation and Jesus being the bread of life out in Soumdina Po Wayi this past Friday. David and our interns had a good visit to Tchefengda and enjoyed playing soccer with the teenage boys this past Saturday, also. Please continue to pray for the 3 children on our street who are still not being taken care of full time by their mother: Kamalao, MenteEsso, and Piyapele. We have had many frustrations over the past couple of weeks with a corrupt justice system, very different cultural norms and acceptable behavior in regard to children, and the ever present difficulty of relating to others in a culture with such a different worldview.

Hannah, Elijah, and Gabriel have all enjoyed morning "school time" in the office with Mom while Dad has been gone. Caleb has been gaining more weight the past two weeks and is walking around now and then by pushing a chair along the floor. Please pray for our interns as they travel to Accra on Tuesday, some to return to the states and others to take a survey trip to Sudan with Matt and Brett. May God bless you this week!

Love, The Reeves Family
