Team Update

Help! The Kara Christian Academy needs to fill two (2) teaching slots for the 2007-08 school year. If you, or anyone you know, would like to teach three bright and energetic 2nd graders or their 3 younger, pre-school aged brothers, please contact Tracey Ries at btries@kabiyemission.org.

Internship continues to go well. "The kids" are adjusting well to life here, and we are thoroughly enjoying having them around. Village visits, soccer games, language practice, making meals, shadowing host moms and doing service projects can be very tiring, but they are handling it all very well and maintaining great attitudes!

Please continue to pray for our teacher search. We really need two people to come and teach our children this fall, so please spread the word and keep praying!

Reeves Family Update - kabiye4christ@yahoo.fr

Happy Father's Day! We've had a relaxing week in the Reeves household as everyone in our family has finally recovered from our sicknesses. Praise God that we are all feeling better! Becky and Caleb had the hardest time getting over their nasty cold/ear infections and are still finishing out their antibiotics. This has been our family's "break" from hosting interns and it's been good timing for our family. We had a wonderful time with Travis, Alan, Sky, and Kacy in our home the first 10 days of internship and we're looking forward to hosting some of the gals during this next round that begins on Wednesday. We had a good time pampering "Dad" with a a yummy meat and potatoes dinner on Sunday and some time for Daddy to hang out in his new hammock. Hannah, Elijah, and Gabriel all had fun making father's day gifts and have been having a wonderful time at summer school with their teachers.

David has continued to enjoy the manual labor service projects he's been working on with the guy interns at the schoolhouse. So far, they have built two latrine covers, cleaned out and dismantled the pig pen, created a rock path for the children, and are in the process of building tin awnings for the windows at the schoolhouse. He has also been spending his regular times in the villages and had good visits in both Hade Te and Tchefengda this past week. Becky enjoyed heading to the village of Soumdina Po Wayi on Friday with the Emersons and some other interns to learn how to make soap from ashes and palm nut oil. Some of the interns are hoping to teach the families they will bond with this next week for three days how to make soap for themselves. Please pray for all of the interns to be a blessing to the families in the villages that they stay with this next weekend and please continue to pray for health, perseverance, good relationships, and eyes for the working of God around us for both missionaries and interns. Also, please pray for God to do a powerful work in the city of Kara, turning people from darkness into the light of Christ. May God bless you this week!
