Team Update

Help! The Kara Christian Academy needs to fill two (2) teaching slots for the 2007-08 school year. If you, or anyone you know, would like to teach three bright and energetic 2nd graders or their 3 younger, pre-school aged brothers, please contact Tracey Ries at btries@kabiyemission.org.

The Millers are back!!! They arrived last night in Accra safe and sound with all of their bags. Please pray for their integration back into life in West Africa.

As always, comings and goings seem to go hand in hand, and on Thursday we are saying goodbye to Rachel Phillips, our Kara Christian Academy teacher since January. She has blessed us with her servant heart, her good attitude, and her hard work on behalf of our children. Thank you Rachel for blessing our team these last 5 months!

Next week we will be invaded, in a good way, by 12 college students who will be interning with our team for 8 weeks. Please pray for their travels and for God to mold their hearts during their time among our team and the Kabiye!

Reeves Family Update - kabiye4christ@yahoo.fr

Greeting from the Reeves family! We enjoyed a wonderful week in Accra, Ghana, and at Coconut Grove for the annual West African Missionary Retreat. Caleb will be 9 months old this week and is pictured sunning on the beach. What a sweetie he is! This past week has been back to normal with village visits and school finishing up for the children. David had very encouraging visits in Legue Legue, Ajadaa, and Lassa Tchou. He also had a good talk with his Muslim friend, Adam, who seems open to the good news. Please pray for Adam's heart to be pricked by the truth in Colossians that the fullness of God is revealed in Christ Jesus. Becky visited the ladies out in Soumdina Po Wayi with April on Saturday and set up a time to return in a few weeks to return and learn how to make soap with some interns. We're hoping our interns can each teach their host families during bonding how to make soap, as so few Kabiye people know how to make, or have access to, soap in the villages.

Hannah, Elijah, and Gabriel were "promoted" to their next grades at an ice cream supper after team worship this past Sunday evening. For their performances Hannah read a letter she wrote from one raccoon to another that was very funny and creative and Elijah did a great job of reading the first 2 of the 10 commandments out of Exodus 20. Hannah's teachers, Katie Skipper (Oct-Dec) and Rachel Phillips (Jan-May) and Elijah and Gabriel's teacher Tracey did excellent jobs this year. It has been such a joy to watch our children learn and grow. They are pictured here with Isaac, Graham, and Owen Ries being "goofy" during school pictures. We are eagerly anticipating the return of the Miller family to Kara on the 24th and the arrival of our summer interns from Harding on the 30th. Please pray for all of those traveling and for us as we seek to help them settle in here. May God bless you! Love, The Reeves family
