Team Update

Help! The Kara Christian Academy needs to fill two (2) teaching slots for the 2007-08 school year. If you, or anyone you know, would like to teach three bright and energetic 2nd graders or their 3 younger, pre-school aged brothers, please contact Tracey Ries at btries@kabiyemission.org.

Thank you for your prayers for the All-Church Retreat! God blessed this annual meeting and everyone went away uplifted and encouraged. 80 Christians, including at least 1 representative from 17 of the 18 village churches, traveled from all over Kabiyeland to attend this time of worship, study, and building of unity. Praise God that He continues to raise up Kabiye men and women to follow Him!

The Emersons, Reeves and Rieses traveled along with our school teacher, Rachel, down to Casa del Papa, a beach resort in Benin, to see off the Vaughn family. They are preparing to leave Benin after 8 blessed years of service to the Aja people. Praise God that He has used Randy, Kelly, and their family to expand His kingdom in West Africa!

The on-field team will be reduced to two families once again with the Emerson's heading back to the States for a 3 week furlough. Please pray for their travels and for the upcoming Mission Sunday at GracePointe, which will take place on April 29th.

God bless you all and thank you for lifting up the Kabiye Team in your prayers!

Reeves Family Update - kabiye4christ@yahoo.fr

Hello from our family! We hope that this update finds you doing well. We had a blessed all-church retreat this past Easter weekend with representatives from churches all over Kabiyeland attending. The Christians graciously served us a yummy meal of cornmeal mush and sauce that Elijah and his buddy Graham especially enjoyed. We also enjoyed a wonderful couple of days saying farewell to the Vaughn family the early part of last week on the coast of Benin. The Vaughns have been serving in Benin since 1998 and we were privileged to get to spend some more time with them before they return to the States. Our family also celebrated our annual tradition of partaking of a Passover meal together on Friday afternoon. Our children enjoy the symbols and food more every year. We also had a team Easter Egg Hunt for the children on Sunday afternoon, which was a big highlight for our children as well. Other home front news is that we harvested around 100 ears of sweet corn that David tirelessly planted and tended to for the past two months. It is delicious!! David is very tired from driving so much this past week both to southern Benin and Accra, Ghana and the nights spent out in the village. Becky is a bit worn down from not as much sleep as usual and the heat but all of our children seem to be healthy and doing well. Thank you so much for your prayers and care for us! Keep 'em comin'! May God continue to bless you! Love, The Reeves family
